A bookstore employee becomes obsessed with a pulp horror novel about a disfigured killer who grafts his victims' facial features onto his own disfigured face. As she reads deeper into the book, she starts witnessing real murders that mirror scenes from the story exactly, and comes to believe the novel's monster has somehow crossed over into reality to stalk her.
