An off-duty New York cop visiting his estranged wife at her company's Christmas party becomes the only hope for the hostages when a group of heavily armed criminals seizes the skyscraper, forcing him to fight them off floor by floor, barefoot and outgunned, while negotiating with police outside who don't believe he exists.
