Institutionalized after the events of the first film, Kirsty Cotton finds herself back in danger when the hospital's obsessive Dr. Channard resurrects her stepmother Julia and reopens the doorway to Hell via the puzzle box that summons the Cenobites. Kirsty and a mute young patient descend into Hell itself to escape Channard's ambitions and confront the demonic order led by Pinhead.
