This is an absolute holy grail for vintage pulp collectors: an original copy of Fantastic Novels Magazine from January 1941. This landmark issue is highly prized because it features a legendary, museum-grade front cover illustrated directly by the king of speculative stipple art, Virgil Finlay, depicting a rifle-wielding warrior riding a massive giant bee.
The front cover retains vivid, bright colours with the iconic Virgil Finlay giant bee artwork clearly visible, but shows wear including corner blunting, creasing, and a previous owner's name inscription. The back cover exhibits tanning/browning, edge and corner wear. The spine shows toning and wear consistent with its age.
