A deformed, hulking morgue worker becomes obsessed with reviving the woman he loved after she dies of tuberculosis. When hospital authorities plan to dissect her body, he steals her corpse and begins killing to protect it — then falls in with a deranged scientist who promises to bring her back to life in exchange for a steady supply of bodies, dead and living, for his monstrous experiments.
