A meteor crash thaws a dinosaur egg dormant at the bottom of a remote lake, hatching a massive prehistoric plesiosaur that begins attacking boaters and swimmers. As the body count rises, the local sheriff and a team of scientists must find a way to stop the creature, torn between wanting to study it alive and needing to kill it before it claims more victims.
