In 18th-century rural England, a mysterious stranger arrives to claim an inheritance, but he is secretly a servant of Satan, resurrected after a drop of virgin's blood fell on a suicide victim's grave. Aided by a dwarf accomplice, he begins ritualistically kidnapping and murdering young village women, until the local parson and a Jewish scholar of the Kabbalah team up to stop him.
