An accident with an experimental weather-control machine on a remote island causes local insects to grow to giant size, and the resulting chaos leads to the hatching of a baby Godzilla, nicknamed Minilla. Godzilla arrives to protect and raise his newfound offspring, ultimately battling a giant spider that has trapped the infant in its web. Despite the German title's invocation of Frankenstein, the film has no connection to that series — a common marketing tactic of the era to link Toho's monster movies to a more familiar horror brand.
