A genuine Hammer Films classic — despite the title, there's no actual vampire in it; it's loosely based on the legend of Elizabeth Báthory, the "Blood Countess" who allegedly bathed in the blood of young women to preserve her youth. "Countess Dracula" was a marketing invention to capitalize on Hammer's vampire brand recognition, and Ingrid Pitt's performance is considered one of her best.
