In 17th-century Hungary, a widowed countess discovers that bathing in the blood of young women temporarily restores her youth, and enlists her steward and lover to help her kidnap and kill local girls while she poses as her own daughter. As the effect proves temporary and increasingly hard to maintain, her deception spirals toward collapse. Loosely inspired by the legend of Elizabeth Báthory, with Ingrid Pitt in the title role.
