This fascinating Japanese poster appears to have been produced for a local theater “cool night show” special program, rather than as a standard studio-issued release. The main feature is titled Pond of Ghostly Obsession (literal translation), which seems to be a re-titling of Shochiku’s 1957 supernatural drama Kaidan Iro Zange: Kyoren Onna Shisho (Dancing Mistress), starring Keiko Yukishiro and Michiko Saga. However, this retitling is unconfirmed.  The secondary feature promoted on the same poster is Murder of a Dressmaker in Ehime Prefecture (literal translation), a Japanese murder/crime documentary from the 1950s. The artwork emphasizes eerie ghostly imagery, striking colors, and hand-painted lettering typical of Japanese horror advertising, making this not only a rare survival but also a visually compelling collectible. Local-issue Japanese posters like this, especially with uncertain distribution and unique titles, are among the hardest variants to find.  Linen backed..
